The UNESCO Creative Cities Network, now encompassing 350 cities across more than 100 countries, embraces seven creative fields, which include Crafts and Folk Art, Design, Film, Gastronomy, Literature, Media Arts, and Music. This network expansion represents a remarkable synergy between cities worldwide that are committed to leveraging the power of culture and creativity for urban revitalization and development.

Director-General Azoulay emphasized the leading role played by the cities within the network in expanding access to culture and harnessing the force of creativity for urban recovery and progress. UNESCO is poised to release an upcoming policy paper titled "The Added Value of the UNESCO Creative Cities Network at Local, National, and International Levels." This document will illustrate the pivotal contributions of cities towards the realization of the 2030 Agenda and showcase UNESCO's dedication to supporting UCCN members by facilitating dialogue, peer-to-peer learning, and collaborative efforts.
