Vietravel, Vietnam’s Largest Aviation and Tourism Corporation, is set to welcome 4,500 employees from one of the world's top pharmaceutical companies for a 5-day excursion across Northern Vietnam.
Mrs. Nguyen Nguyet Van Khanh, Vietravel CMO, announced that Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Limited employees will arrive in stages from August 27 to September 7. The 4,500-strong contingent is set to tour Hanoi, Ninh Binh, and Ha Long Bay. The pharmaceutical giant's billionaire owner also accompanies the group.
This marks Vietravel's largest-ever inbound tour group, significantly surpassing previous Indian groups of 100-200 people.
Mr. Bui Van Manh, Director of Ninh Binh's Tourism Department, confirmed preparations are underway to accommodate the group. Plans include deploying additional staff and establishing a special reception area at the Trang An Scenic Landscape Complex, a UNESCO World Heritage site.
"Our experience with high-volume tourism puts us in a strong position to host this group," Mr. Manh asserted. He added that successfully managing this event could pave the way for attracting similar large-scale groups, potentially boosting the region's tourism sector.
According to Mrs. Khanh, these visitors will be lodged in luxury 4-5-star hotels throughout their Vietnam stay. They have specific dietary requirements to align with their religious and cultural beliefs. Additionally, they have requested a minimum of one tour guide for every group of 30-35 guests to ensure the best possible experience.
Vietravel, the sole Vietnamese travel company with a representative office in Mumbai, has marked a significant milestone by hosting this 4,500-strong Indian tour group. This achievement not only showcases Vietravel's exceptional organizational prowess but also highlights Vietnam's burgeoning appeal as an international tourist destination. By crafting bespoke itineraries and delivering premium services tailored to the unique needs of Indian tourists, Vietravel has demonstrated its world-class professionalism. This success cements Vietravel's regional leadership and underscores its ambition to integrate seamlessly with the global market, opening new avenues in the international tourism landscape.
This mega-tour reflects a broader trend of surging Indian tourism to Vietnam. Official figures show a 231% increase in Indian visitors in 2023 compared to 2019. In the first half of this year, Vietravel has successfully hosted numerous sizeable Indian tour groups.
This remarkable accomplishment is the culmination of Vietravel's long-term strategy focused on expanding international partnerships and spearheading market development through vigorous tourism promotion in India. The company's success has been bolstered by crucial support from key government bodies, including the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism, the Vietnamese Embassy, and the Vietnamese Trade Office in India, as well as local tourism authorities. Looking forward, Vietravel is committed to intensifying its efforts to position Vietnam as a premier tourist destination in India. The company aims to attract a diverse array of international visitors, with a focus on large groups boasting significant spending power, thereby contributing substantially to the growth and development of Vietnam's tourism industry.
