In the northernmost reaches of Vietnam's enchanting province of Cao Bang lies a hidden gem known as the Na Tenh Pass. This picturesque pass features 20 gentle curves and a wealth of serene landscapes, yet it often remains undiscovered amidst the province's numerous enchanting mountain roads.

Na Tenh Pass is discreetly tucked along the route from Ha Giang to Cao Bang, specifically in Can Nong Commune within the Ha Quang District. It shares its border with Xuan Truong Commune in Bao Lac District, making it a beautiful crossroad in the region.

What sets the Na Tenh Pass apart from its neighboring routes in Cao Bang is its smooth, gentle curves that offer a smoother journey compared to some of the steeper, more challenging passes. This pass leads travelers through a captivating landscape adorned with terraced fields and cornfields halfway up the mountainside, creating an opportunity to conquer the pass while immersing in the natural beauty of Cao Bang.
The road to Na Tenh Pass offers relatively even terrain, making it suitable for both cycling and motorbike adventures. It's the ideal environment to savor the scenery and breathe in the crisp, fresh air.

While descending Na Tenh Pass is not particularly strenuous, it requires caution due to the continuous series of 20 bends, which can be more challenging than anticipated, especially on rainy days when the roads become slippery. Therefore, it's advisable to choose clear weather for your journey.

The best time to experience the beauty of Na Tenh Pass is from late September to October, when the terraced fields transform into a golden-hued spectacle, complementing the lush green mountains and forests. Alternatively, travelers can visit between May and July when the pass is adorned with vibrant green cornfields on both sides.

For those who wish to explore this region further, it's highly recommended to venture along the Khau Coc Cha Pass, which is located on the same road. This pass navigates the vertical contours of Coc Cha Mountain and connects Xuan Truong Commune with Bao Lac Town. While it's a relatively short pass at just 2.5 kilometers in length, it boasts 15 steep and challenging levels, presenting itself as one of Vietnam's top 10 most perilous passes. It remains a magnet for adventure-seeking backpackers who are up for the challenge, according to the Cao Bang Cultural and Tourism Information Center.

Embark on your journey to uncover the hidden charm of Na Tenh Pass and the captivating surroundings of Cao Bang, a serene adventure that promises an unforgettable experience in the heart of this picturesque province.
