The event took place on Nov 16th, 2023, at the Vietnamese Cultural Center in France.
This special seminar brought together distinguished participants from both the Vietnamese and French sides, including key figures in the government, tourism, and business sectors. Dignitaries such as the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Vietnam, H.E. Mr. Nguyen Van Hung, the Ambassador of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam in France, H.E. Mr. Dinh Toan Thang, and the Director of Vietnam National Tourism Administration, H.E. Mr. Nguyen Trung Khanh, and Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City Chefs Association, H.E. Blessed with abundant natural resources and a wealth of cultural diversity, Vietnam stands poised for significant advancements in its tourism sector. The nation boasts a myriad of distinctive destinations, offering a unique advantage for tourism development. Emphasis is placed on cultivating cultural-historical, eco-community, and coastal tourism, leveraging the captivating landscapes, pristine beaches, and the warm hospitality of its 54 ethnic groups—all directed towards fostering sustainable tourism practices.
The seamless accessibility through direct flights, and uncomplicated entry and exit procedures, coupled with an array of attractive destinations and tourism offerings, complemented by the warm and hospitable nature of its people, creates an ideal environment for the mutually beneficial promotion of tourism development between nations.
Across numerous years, the European Union has maintained its role as a significant economic partner for Vietnam. Within the tourism industry, the European Union has consistently functioned as a traditional market for Vietnamese tourism, hosting 2.17 million visitors in 2019, representing 12% of the total number of arrivals to Vietnam. Specifically, French tourists contributed 290 thousand to this figure, reflecting a 3% increase from 2018 and positioning France as the second-largest inbound market within the European Union of Vietnam.
The event showcased Vietnam's commitment to bilateral tourism development, exploring natural, cultural, and culinary destinations. Discussions included Vietnam’s new visa policies favoring French and European visitors. A notable exemplification of this collaborative spirit was witnessed through the strategic partnership established between Vietravel and Vietnam Airlines in France, as well as the synergistic collaboration between the Association for the Promotion of Vietnamese Culture (APCV) in France and the Vietnamese Cultural Center in France.
Additionally, attendees were treated to a vibrant display of Vietnamese traditional art and experience the opening ceremony of the exhibition titled "Colors of Vietnamese Culture," showcasing the nation's rich heritage. Delegates from France were even treated to an exquisite display of flavors of Vietnamese cuisine, further solidifying the cultural exchange at the heart of the event.
Vietravel's prominent role was underlined by the presence of key representatives, including Ms. Le Y Linh, Director of the Vietravel Branch in France and Chairwoman of the Vietnam Cultural Tourism Promotion Association in France and Europe, and Mr. Hoang Dai Ngai, Deputy Director of Inbound Dept. of Vietravel. We took the opportunity to introduce ourselves as Vietnam's premier tourism. Vietravel also showcased our diverse and tailored tourism products for French and European tourists.
The seminar concluded on a high note, symbolizing a step forward in the robust relationship between Vietnam and France, where cultural appreciation and tourism development go hand in hand.
