Blessed with abundant natural resources and a wealth of cultural diversity, Vietnam stands poised for significant advancements in its tourism sector. The nation boasts a myriad of distinctive destinations, offering a unique advantage for tourism development. Emphasis is placed on cultivating cultural-historical, eco-community, and coastal tourism, leveraging the captivating landscapes, pristine beaches, and the warm hospitality of its 54 ethnic groups—all directed towards fostering sustainable tourism practices.

The seamless accessibility through direct flights, and uncomplicated entry and exit procedures, coupled with an array of attractive destinations and tourism offerings, complemented by the warm and hospitable nature of its people, creates an ideal environment for the mutually beneficial promotion of tourism development between nations.

Across numerous years, the European Union has maintained its role as a significant economic partner for Vietnam. Within the tourism industry, the European Union has consistently functioned as a traditional market for Vietnamese tourism, hosting 2.17 million visitors in 2019, representing 12% of the total number of arrivals to Vietnam. Specifically, French tourists contributed 290 thousand to this figure, reflecting a 3% increase from 2018 and positioning France as the second-largest inbound market within the European Union of Vietnam.
