Phu Quoc Islands emerge as a new global hotspot

With its enchanting natural beauty, iconic architecture, and top-notch travel experiences, Phu Quoc Island has become a must-visit destination for travelers across the globe. The island has come a long way from being an unknown gem to becoming one of the world's most sought-after destinations, surpassing other well-known tourist hotspots.

In 2021, Phu Quoc's splendor was recognized when it was included in Time magazine's list of the 100 greatest islands in the world. The island's charm and allure were further highlighted in November 2022, when it bagged the coveted World Travel Award for "The World's Leading Nature Island Destination," beating out six other renowned islands like Antigua and Barbuda, Dominica, Isle of Skye in Scotland, Lofoten in Norway, Reunion Island in the Indian Ocean, and Zanzibar in Tanzania.

The island's alluring natural features, including its mountains, hills, 28 islets, and 14 diverse beaches that stretch over 150 kilometers of coastline, are among the most beautiful on the planet.

As Phu Quoc's popularity continues to skyrocket, recently, authorities in the southern province of Kien Giang, where the island is located, have proposed extending the current 30-day visa-free stay to six months for foreign visitors arriving directly into the Phu Quoc coastal economic zone or via other

international border gates within the territory of Vietnam, Kien Giang Newspaper reported. The proposal aims to make Phu Quoc an even more accessible and attractive destination for travelers worldwide.
