Former German Deputy Prime Minister Philipp Rösler is an independent member of the Board of Directors of Vietravel Airlines, supporting the airline in developing its international partner network.


Mr. Philipp Rösler was elected as an independent member of the Board of Directors of Vietravel Airlines (Vietravel Airlines) for a term until 2027 at the annual meeting on October 23. The former Deputy Prime Minister of Germany will play the role of advisor to the company’s strategic direction in expanding international cooperation, especially with investors and partners in Europe and Asia Pacific.


Independent members of the Board of Directors, as the name suggests, are independent people who have no personal or property relationships with the company or its managers. Their participation aims to improve supervision capacity, ensure transparency in the organization and operation of the board of directors, and help prevent concealment and concealment of information.



Mr. Philipp Rösler



Mr. Philipp Rösler was born in 1973 in Soc Trang, adopted and raised in Germany. He used to be a military doctor and joined politics after leaving the army. In 2009, he assumed the position of German Health Minister. Two years later, he became Deputy Prime Minister of Germany, Minister of Economics and Technology, and Minister of Health. In 2014, he left politics. He also held many important positions at large corporations in the world such as Siemens, Deutsche Bank and Lufthansa.


Currently, Mr. Rösler is Chairman of the International Advisory Board of VinaCapital Ventures, a venture capital fund in the technology sector of VinaCapital Group. In addition, he also holds the role of an independent member of the Board of Directors at Loc Troi Joint Stock Company since May 2020.


At the end of last year, Vietravel Group – the largest shareholder of Vietravel Tourism Company (VTR) – transferred 1.78 million VTR shares, equivalent to 10.3% of capital, to VinaCapital Fund Management Joint Stock Company. At that time, Vietravel said that VinaCapital’s participation would create many opportunities to expand capital sources to serve tourism business activities, as well as diversify the fields and business lines of the parent corporation. as well as member units.


In addition to Mr. Rösler, the Board of Directors of Vietravel Airlines elected additional members Mr. Doan Hai Dang, General Director of World Transportation Services Joint Stock Company (World Trans). Ms. Le Thi Tuyet Mai, Head of the Internal Audit Committee of Vietravel Group, was appointed to the Vietravel Airlines supervisory board, replacing Mr. Do Thanh Hung, Chief Financial Officer of Vietravel Group.
