Tourism Minister Thong Khon said that Cambodian authorities are preparing to launch an international waterway for visitors to travel between Koh Tonsay in Kep province and Phu Quoc island.
The Cambodian government plans to launch a speed boat service connecting Kep province with Phu Quoc island to promote tourism.
This will help attract foreign travelers to travel in Vietnam. Furthermore, it will also create jobs and income for Cambodians living in nearby coastal areas.
Kep Province is just a few kilometers from the Vietnamese border. It is home to many potential tourist attractions including islands, waterfalls, the Kong Kang forest area, mountains, and zoos. To attract tourists, this province also has delicious food, convenient transportation, abundant accommodation, and all cheap.
Phu Quoc, home to long white-sand beaches and high-end resorts has become a global destination after having an international airport in 2012 and allowing foreigners to enter 30-day visa-free in 2014. It received over five million visitors in 2019, including 541,600 foreigners.
