Phu Quoc / New Delhi, 10 Dec 2025 – Vietravel partners with MakeMyTrip to support direct flights from New Delhi to Phu Quoc, enhancing Vietnam tourism.
With the peak travel season approaching and demand for international leisure rising, Vietravel has announced a collaborative initiative with MakeMyTrip, India’s largest online travel platform, to introduce a direct flight series from New Delhi to Phu Quoc. Operated by Air India from December 10, 2025, to January 10, 2026, the programme consists of eight flights. This development marks a measured yet significant advancement in bilateral cooperation, enhancing the visibility of Vietnam tourism and strengthening regional aviation connectivity.
Possessing a rapidly expanding outbound market, India recorded over 27 million international departures in 2019, with forecasts suggesting a doubling of figures in the coming decade. According to The Economist, outbound expenditure reached USD 33 billion in 2023 and is projected to grow to USD 45 billion by 2025, largely driven by travellers pursuing warm-climate escapes, refined hospitality, and integrated resort environments. Phu Quoc’s temperate winter conditions, established leisure infrastructure, and distinctive cultural activities position the island as a suitable destination for this expanding demographic.
Each Air India service is designed to carry approximately 160 passengers, welcoming an estimated 1,400 Indian visitors during its one-month operation. The schedule - from New Delhi at 7:40 PM and returning at 3:00 AM - has been planned with careful consideration for travellers’ time, enabling guests to commence experiences from the first morning upon arrival. This structured approach reflects a coordinated effort to elevate tourism efficiency and facilitate sustainable growth for Vietnam tourism, particularly within high-potential South Asian segments.
In alignment with its 30-year commitment to professional tour operation and destination promotion, Vietravel, together with MakeMyTrip, has curated a tailored 5-day / 4-night all-inclusive programme.
